Final sponsorships: $1142.50
Well - we did it!!!!
Thank you so much to everybody who has supported us over the past few
months, and a special thank you to everyone who has donated money to
Transplant Australia. We also want to send out big hugs to Andy and Ben
(who were both responsible for inspiring us to ride), Mum (who came
out training with us on
the weekends and completed the 100km ride, and waited from 3pm to
7.30pm at the finish line for us to come in), and everyone at Omara
Cycles for putting up with our incessant questions and gear changing!
There are countless other
friends and family members who have also given us moral support over
the past few months - without you all we'd be still lazing about on the
weekends doing not much.
The amount we have raised has far exceeded our expectations, and Transplant Australia are also very happy. So thank you again.
It's been exciting to receive emails from people saying that Phil is
inspiring, and this in turn is motivating us to continue with our
newfound healthy lifestyle. We are intending to keep this up, and are
already talking about buying bigger, better, more manned up bikes for
next year (250km anyone??). We are also looking forward to Amy's ride
in January (just a short 120km....). We are excited to track Phil's
physical changes as his fitness progresses!
We've had a few requests to keep the blog going, so we might start
fresh site after a bit of a break. This has been an incredible
adventure, so it really deserves to be a story in itself.
Thanks again for all your emails and support - we'll see you again when the blisters have healed!
Love,
Amy and Phil

Welcome to our Around the Bay in a Day training blog. Read all about
our painful progress in Blog!
We are doing the ride basically because it is good for us, but also to
celebrate the 10th anniversary of Phil's double lung transplant. We're
glad we can help raise awareness of the need for organ donors, but we
are also collecting cash donations which we are giving to Transplant Australia.
Please feel free to contact us with your thoughts, suggestions, support and "are you guys insane" emails.
Amy n Phil
